The project aim is to encourage current farmers in the Shire to consider and then cooperate in developing market-oriented production of horticultural/agricultural produce.

To develop business opportunities that will lead to significant increase in investment in horticulture/agriculture by farmers and associated value-adding investments in Forbes Shire.

Capital and set up costs are likely to provide more business and create more jobs within the Shire.

Value-adding will lead to increased employment opportunities.

Longer term, the financial viability of farming in the Shire will be dependent on more effective use of the increasingly scarcer and more expensive water resources.
